If you're looking out for a runner in the mass-participation race, you can expect to see them once the race kicks off at 9.40 am BST. Sadly, the female marathon world record holder, Brigid Kosgei, has also withdrawn ahead of the race with a minor hamstring injury. In the women's race, Kenyan Joyciline Jepkosgei is also returning to the field after winning last year's London Marathon in 2:17:43 - the seventh fastest women's marathon ever. Britain's Mo Farah sadly dropped out of the race due to a hip injury. Also toeing the line of the men's race is the 2021 men’s winner Ethiopian Sisay Lemma. As the second-fastest marathon runner of all time, all eyes will be on the Ethiopian runner to see if he can contest Eliud Kipchoge's new marathon world record. In the elite race, Olympian Kenesia Bekele is back in the UK, leading the men's race.
